What we collect
When you place an order with hue you give us three things: the photograph you upload, the email address you provide at checkout, and the payment record Stripe writes to your account. If you take the on-site quiz or enter your name before uploading, we keep those answers with your session. To run and protect the service we also record basic usage data: the pages you visit on huecolor.co, the link that referred you, your browser’s user-agent, an approximate country from your IP address, and a first-party session identifier that ties a visit to its order. We do not buy data about you, run advertising pixels, or use cross-site trackers.
What we do with each
Your photograph
Used once to produce your color reading and the portrait studies in your report. Stored encrypted in private storage. Never shared with third parties outside the processors listed below.
Your email
Used to deliver your report and the transactional messages tied to your order — the “your analysis is ready” note, a photo-deletion notice, and any refund or support reply. If you opt in, we may send one invitation to review us. We will never send marketing email unless you separately opt in.
Your payment
Processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card. Stripe returns a transaction record — the charge and customer identifiers, amount, currency, status, the email you entered, the tier and any coupon, and the card brand and last four digits — which we keep for accounting and support.
How long we keep things
Photograph
Removed around thirty days after delivery. Your report (the text and palette) is retained until you ask us to remove it.
Retained for the lifetime of your account or until you request deletion.
Payment record
Retained as long as required by Stripe and applicable tax law (typically seven years).
Who we share with
We use a small number of processors, each scoped to a single technical job. None receive your photograph beyond what their role requires.
- Stripe — payment processing (cards, wallets, receipts). United States. Receives only payment metadata, never your photograph.
- Vercel — application hosting + edge CDN, plus cookieless page-view analytics (Vercel Web Analytics) that runs only after you accept the cookie notice. United States. Receives request logs (IP, user-agent) for serving the page.
- Supabase — encrypted photo storage + analysis database. United States primary, Tokyo data residency. Holds your photograph until it is removed, around 30 days after delivery.
- Resend — transactional email delivery. United States. Receives your email address and your finished report, delivered as a PDF attachment.
- OpenAI— image generation for the report’s portrait pages, via the Codex CLI running on our render server. United States. Receives your photograph during the analysis run; OpenAI’s policy is to retain inputs for 30 days then delete.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your data. We do not show ads. If we enable product-analytics or error-monitoring tools, they will be added to this list and will only run after you accept our cookie notice.
Your rights
You can request a copy of every piece of data we hold about you, or ask us to delete it entirely, at any time. Email info@huecolor.co with the email used for the order. Deletion is processed within 24 hours and confirmed in writing.
Cookies
We use first-party cookies and browser storage to run the service: to keep you signed in if you create an account, to remember your session and quiz answers, to record whether you have accepted this notice, and — once you have paid — to grant your browser access to your own report. We do not use third-party tracking cookies, advertising pixels, or cross-site identifiers.
Children
hue is intended for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has submitted a photograph, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we make a material change to how we handle your data, we will email you and refresh the “last updated” date above before the change takes effect.
